One walk through London, seeing all the beautiful doors, and I came home ready to paint my own door. Keeping aside the inspiration, I learnt that your front door is the one things that defines who and what kind of people or person lives in that house.

Seeing all those beautiful London doors made me realise my own front door was a tard boring. Sitting in the train looking remembering the pretty streets and the pretty doors made me think ..... nope, I can do better.
So I decided to give my front door a make over!
Here is how it looked before.

As I sat there thinking what colour should I go for, all I could think about was yellow flowers in summer with pinks and reds. Despite me being a pink girly and I have seen pink doors in my area.
If London taught me anything, its that a door should have personality.
After reaching out to door companies, an appointment was made, where they came over we talked style and colours.
With my taste for vintage I chose the traditional styles I saw in London, I felt a strong push to go for a yellow, warm summer yellow. An image of gold handles and letter box popped in my head, making me imagine how cottagey yet glam it will look.
The engineers and the door installers came 3 months later and I had my door plus back windows done.

What about the flowers? Yes I popped into my nearest Garden Centre to see what they had. I envisaged beautiful hanging plants for now since I could not find floral wall plants at this time. Because of the time of the year I was so lucky to find a few more left over and on sale. It was meant to be. Those hanging plants are more popular than plant based burgers, literally flying off the shelves.

Since front and back garden makeover is also eminent, I decided to just complete the whole look with some lovely front door garden pots with pretty flowers and a Fern and Fable Coir door mat as the cherry on top. Not fogetting the compost for the pots to plant the flowers. I was looking for the best deals in that period, which means I visited atleast 2 garden centres

Happy that I got all that I need, I decided to try out amazon for deals on compost and I found the Multipurpose Compost. Having a Prime Account really helps because my compost was delivered the next day.

This was a labour of love which I really enjoyed and I am happy with the transformation. I hope my door now expresses something about my home or myself.
Here is the finished look.
