Aboard the LNER train from Waterloo to Windsor & Eton Riverside, I switched off, relaxed in my cozy seat enjoying my cup of English breakfast tea, looking out into the cascading beautiful English country side.
Upon arrival I headed towards the road that takes you to the castle itself. Standing there looking out, It felt like being in a historical timeline back in time. Except that the people are dressed in 21st century style and fashion. Not forgetting the large crowds of tourists.
The walk towards the castle was exhilarating enjoying the historical buildings, charming little shops, cafes and restaurants. I did spot a few very old vintage cars which are a charming site. Vintage cars are one of the things I enjoy experiencing, you can watch one of my videos on Rolls Royce Concours D'Elegance at Burghley House.
Towards the entrance I encountered the vision of the famous Round Tower upon lush green grass.
Despite the Large crowds the queues were well organized so I did not wait of too long. I was in before I could start complaining of the wait and it was lovely speaking to other tourists and visitors.
Heading toward the castle gates was also another treat with an opportunity to see more of the historical architecture which has always fascinated me with the intricate details giving the buildings so much character. Note, Windsor Castle is 950 years old build in 1070 the 11th century. After invading Britain, William the Conqueror, a Viking Norman king ordered Windsor Castle to be built as a shield against advancing enemies. It is now the kings principle residence.
I didn't just visit Windsor castle to tick a bucket list; I went to experience the amazing architecture and interiors full of history and character. To have a close view of the opulent antiques that intentionally embellish the rooms.
On arrival at the grand reception room, in between the large crowds, I was able to capture only a few details whilst in the Windsor castle interiors. For instance Mr. Brooksbank's suite and gown worn by HRH Princess Eugenie on that special day. As well as the evening gown won by the princess at the evening ball.

For the Love of Antiques
For the antiques lovers, and as one who appreciate antiques, we will be able to relish these beautiful Sky blue and gold antique jags or decanters. I was not able to see the designer's name but please, if you do know the make, kindly let us know on the comment section.
The Surprise
As many followed the crowd, I glided silently in to the quiet corners. Past the brown wood walls and gilded ceilings, antiquities and vintage interiors; at the corner of my eye I spotted it. At first blinded by the bright light against the shiny wooden wall, caused by the summer sun pouring in through the large Windsor Castle windows. Perched on a small pedestal, porcelain; blue and white, glazed with centuries of history; there it was, a large antique chinoiserie vase.
For a second as a lover and collector of chinoiserie, I felt a familiarity. I stood there for a few moments severing the beauty of the design imagining how the palace were able to secure this gorgeous piece.
If you are fan of Jijjy's Maison, then you know vibe is all about the unique and beautiful decor pieces covered in history. This is why chinoiserie is one of "ma point faible"- my weak sport, "mon peche mignon" - my guilty pleasure.

Kings and Queen's Chair
As I recovered from the delight of the chinoiserie vase, a few steps onwards I encounter the stunning Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip's Chair at that time. In jewel red velvet and gold. Despite being slightly worn out where the arms rested for a century or 2, they still stood there in their quiet elegance

On the way, out recovering from the acclaimed exhibition, with my eyes trying to adjust to the bright summer sun, I stopped by the Windsor castle shop for quick souveys.

East Terrace Garden
As a garden lover, I had to head over to the grand East Terrace Garden. This is before it was the Venus Garden. Today it has been rebirthed by the order of King Charles's as the Venus Garden. Baby's got a new makeover, I am so glad I got to see it before in its quiet splendor.
